Located just off the Southern Utah University campus, the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts is a collaboration of state, federal and private funds. The Southern Utah Museum of Art is a single-story structure with reconfigurable exhibit space in five adaptable galleries to accommodate traveling exhibits. Hands-on educational activities for K-12 school groups take place in classroom and studio space. About 5,300 sf of the building is dedicated to storage, care and research areas. The building design enables visitors to have a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Museum's collections. With a roof that hovers just beyond its footprint, the museum shelters an inviting plaza for receptions and public events.
