The Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point offers a variety of exhibits, including Kidopolis, Waterworks, Rainforest, and traveling exhibit space. The museum is incorporated into the existing Children's Garden with an outdoor playground and five acres of future interactive experiences in science, art, history and culture. The lateral system consists of a combination of special reinforced masonry shear walls and special concentric braced frames. The gravity framing system consists of steel deck and wide flange purlins atop custom wood architectural trusses - an uncommon combination that met the desired architectural look and the required construction type for the fire rating.

Reaveley designed exhibit items, including a cable suspension bridge used at the entry, as well as tree houses for the low ropes climbing structure, spider climber tower, large monkey head above the climbing wall, waterfall, red rock in the Waterworks area and the buildings and catwalks in the Kidopolis area. A unique museum feature is the High Ropes Course. Our engineers were heavily involved in the supporting structure, as well as the Piper Cub airplane and key tree sculpture features.
