Huntsman Cancer Institute Jon M Huntsman Cancer Research Center
Huntsman Cancer Institute is an NCI-designated cancer research facility and hospital on the University of Utah campus. As the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in the Intermountain West, it ensures that patients in the region benefit from the most current screening, diagnostic, and treatment methods.
The Institute comprises two main sections: laboratory and office. The laboratory portion is designed with one-way concrete pan joists to control vibration for sensitive laboratory instruments. The office portion features a steel moment frame, concrete on a metal deck, and composite wide flange beams, providing robust structural integrity.
Adjacent to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, the Institute is connected by glass walkways, facilitating easy access and integration between the two facilities.
