SLCIA Terminal Redevelopment Program Parking Garage
Salt Lake City International Airport’s Terminal Redevelopment Program is a massive undertaking. The capital improvement program is expected to span ten years and cost over $2.9 billion. Reaveley Engineers provided design services for the new rental car facilities including a Quick Turn Around (QTA) facility to wash, fuel, and store vehicles. Three rental service sites (RSS) are used for light maintenance and can store up to 500 cars. The five-level garage will house rental-car facilities as well as short- and long-term parking. With 3,600 spaces, the new structure will offer more than twice the number found in the existing garage. The selected structural grid was designed to meet the needs of the rental car industry and provide for efficient circulation. Light wells provide visual cues for pedestrians and contain circulation cores including elevators and open stairs.
