The structural engineering work for Phase 4 of this esteemed cancer center seamlessly blends opulent design with comfort akin to a four-star resort. This phase introduced 85,000 sf of lab space, 81,000 sf dedicated to population research, 165 offices, two captivating two-story atriums, sky bridges fostering connectivity between lab spaces, and an inviting outdoor plaza to encourage casual collaboration among researchers. Significant challenges in this phase included excavating 150,000 cubic yards of rock and soil from the confined 2.5-acre work site and integrating complex electrical and mechanical systems with the original phase constructed in 1999, showcasing the engineering team's adeptness at harmonizing modern requirements with existing infrastructure.
