This 24-story steel framed office tower is an example of creative contemporary structural engineering in Utah. It was completed with the Block 57 redevelopment plan of Salt Lake City.  The unusual saw-tooth setback from the street intersection allows many tenants to have preferred corner offices. The plan inspired a creative solution using double seismic frames at the north and west wing projects of the building and longer single frames for the south and east faces.  The configuration of special ductile moment frames establishes a symmetrical balance of lateral resistance to wind and seismic forces so the building will not amplify twisting motions.
